Wenn sogar beim zur Prime-Time Trickserien und Reality-Mist zeigenden Sender Music Television, kurz MTV, ein (Rock-)Album auf der Videotext-Startseite angepriesen wird und zudem auch noch mit einer ganzen Tafel im inneren der Textuntiefen gewürdigt wird, dann muss man diesem Werk auf jeden Fall Aufmerksamkeit schenken.
Die Band: EAT THE GUN
Das Album: "Super Pursuit Mode Aggressive Thrash Distortion"
Das Genre: Rock `n` Roll; wobei anzufügen ist, dass die Band seit ihrem letzten Longplayer "Cross Your Fingers" eine kleine aber feine Kurskorrektur vorgenommen hat - etwas weg vom bluesigen Hard Rock hin zu mehr Punk-Einschlag.
MTV bescheinigte der Band, sie sei die deutsche Version von DANKO JONES und diese Feststellung kann man, wenn man den eröffnenden Klängen von "Tendency to sin" lauscht, nur unterstreichen. Eine furztrockene Produktion, ein rauchiges, stimmgewaltiges Organ und der gewisse Spagat zwischen 60er Garagen-Rock, Punk und 70er Hard Rock, das sind die Trademarks der "neuen" EAT THE GUN und das sind eben auch die kennzeichnenden Merkmale des Mannes mit dem losen Mundwerk plus Band.
